Network Architecture

FaxCore Evolution eV6 is architected to scale from single-server SMB installations to high-availability, clustered multi-datacenter enterprise environments.

Stand-Alone Architecture

In a stand-alone deployment, all FaxCore services (IIS Web Server, SQL Database, Core Dispatcher, Render Agent, and FaxAgent) run on a single host.

FaxCore Stand-Alone Network Architecture

Key Characteristics:

  • Simplicity: Single Windows Server instance to patch, license, and maintain.
  • Telephony: Connects via enterprise software FoIP SIP/H.323 stacks (TE-SYSTEMS XCAPI, Enghouse Brooktrout SR140) and etherFAX cloud hybrids.
  • Ideal For: Organizations with up to 8–16 lines and localized departmental transmission needs.

N-Tier / Multi-Server Distributed Architecture

For enterprise resilience, high-throughput rendering, and geographical survivability, FaxCore eV6 supports an N-Tier architecture separating presentation, business logic, rendering, telephony, and data storage.

FaxCore N-Tier Distributed Architecture

Architectural Benefits:

  1. Remote FaxAgent Pools: Software FoIP stacks and SIP gateways reside on dedicated FaxAgent servers located close to local network infrastructure or remote branch offices.
  2. Dedicated Render Nodes: CPU-intensive document conversion (PDF rasterization, PCL parsing, OCR) can be offloaded so client web requests remain responsive.
  3. Clustered SQL Server: Supports SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups and failover clustering for zero data loss.
  4. Resilient Document Store: All fax documents, attachments, and transmission logs are stored on resilient SAN/NAS storage, independent of individual application nodes.
