The cloud has proven to be revolutionary. There are countless business practices that have been forever altered by the addition of the cloud.

"Cloud computing is becoming ubiquitous within IT departments, and efforts to drive greater adoption of cloud technology is delivering increased efficiencies and cost savings to the enterprise," wrote ZDNet contributor Ram Lakshminarayanan.

One specific area where the cloud is proving powerful is faxing. The cloud helps faxes get around the issue of siloed, legacy systems. People are able to send and receive faxes remotely without the need for dedicated hardware. Generally, business users have turned to email as a substitute for faxing, but the security normally tasked with preventing it is easily beaten by skilled hackers.

More people are turning to the cloud to improve daily operations in their organizations. Untold numbers are experiencing wild success with moving their business tools into these systems.

"The rapid growth of cloud computing continues," wrote InfoWorld contributor David Linthicum. "As we implement systems, migrate applications, and move infrastructure to the cloud, proceedings seem to be going better than most people expected."
